Loyal Agents

Building the future of the consumer experience in an agentic world

A Stanford + Consumer Reports Initiative for Creating a Secure, Consumer-Centric, Trusted Marketplace of AI Agents

What is Loyal Agents?

Stanford's Digital Economy Lab and Consumer Reports Innovation Lab (CR) are joining forces to create a forward-looking research initiative to develop, test and deploy agentic AI frameworks with consumer-centric values. By bringing together a community of technologists, researchers, and consumer advocates across industry, academia, and civil society, this initiative will tackle the complex challenge of ensuring that AI agents act securely, transparently, and in the user's best interests. The Initiative will focus on, developing sandboxes for prototyping next-generation patterns, learning from applied research and ultimately demonstrating a more dynamic, competitive marketplace driven by "loyal by design" AI.
